Eerie glow over Nha Tho Duc Ba, Saigon
A humid glow surrounds the spires of the "Mary Cathedral" in downtown Saigon.  Known locally as "Nha Tho Duc Ba," the church was built mainly from stone and metal shipped from France in the 19th century, and built by the Vietnamese.

Chua Ky Vien (Flagpole in the Garden Pagoda) is a small building in a back neighborhood of Phu Nhuan District attended by 8 Buddist nuns. It is a mere 50 feet from Hutchings' residence.
